06 Jun University of A Coruña (USC)
The University of A Coruña (UDC) is a public institution whose main aim is to generate, manage and disseminate culture and scientific, technological and professional knowledge through the development of research and teaching in Galicia.
In the field of R+D, the UDC has various research structures linked to the field of biotechnology, among which the CICA -Centre for Advanced Scientific Research- stands out without a doubt. However, it also has other structures linked to this field such as the University Institute of Health Sciences or the University Institute of the Environment. It also has Research Support Services (SAI), composed of a set of specialized services to support scientific research linked to the life sciences.
Currently, the University of Coruña is promoting various specialization campuses through which it seeks to consolidate its position as one of regional, national and international excellence. The Innova Campus has various areas of specialisation in which advanced biology plays a leading role, as an area of R&D and also because of the hybridisation between life sciences and ICT, in which the UDC is a benchmark.
The UDC’s Office for the Transfer of Research Results (OTRI) is the University’s interface with the economic fabric, promoting the transfer of the University’s scientific and technical offerings to the productive sector, managing the University’s catalogue of technological offerings and promoting the creation of spin-offs and the professional development of members of the university community.
